2022 Rally Greece Offroad preparation kicked off
Organization Members of 9th Rally Greece Offroad concluded the first roadbook draft. The 2022 event is expected to be highly demanding for Organizers. Within the next weeks it is expected the confirmation by FIA of whether the race will be part of the 2022 "FIA Cross Country Bajas European Cup". A possible inclusion of the event in the FIA calendar is an important progress not only for Rally Greece Offroad but also for Greek motorsport prestige.
In the following weeks it is also expected the decision of Italian ASN, Aci-Sport, whether the Rally Greece Offroad will be included in 2022 Italian Cross Country Rally Championships (CICCR) for cars and SSVs. If so, 2022 will be the second year that Rally Greece Offroad will be valid for these championships and hopefully with increased coefficient.
Having in mind these perspectives, Organizers are focusing on planning three totally different but parallel races within the same dates.
The first race should be the "FIA event" that will have one (1) day for administrative checks and scrutineering and two (2) more days for the sporting part. It is expected that race itinerary will include more than 400km of Special Stages.
The second race should be the "National event" counting for Greek and Italian CCR championships. This event will have one (1) day for administrative checks and scrutineering and three (3) more days for the sporting part. It is expected that National event itinerary will include more than 500km of Special Stages.
The third event will be the "RAID-Regularity" addressed to standard offroad vehicles with limited requirements regarding safety equipment. In "RAID-Regularity" time precision is asked rather than speed. This event will have also one (1) day for administrative checks and scrutineering and three (3) more days for the regularity part. It is expected that itinerary will include more than 500km of Selectivel Stages.
Save the dates (26-29 May 2022) and see you all in Greece!
